BS-Free Shipping

At inktree, we believe in confronting an uncomfortable truth that most companies don’t like to talk about:

there is no such thing as free shipping

No matter what, someone must pay for a parcel to be transported from the seller to the buyer. It’s a simple, universal reality.

Many large retailers present shipping as “free”—but in reality, the cost is almost always paid by the customer in other ways. Common examples include:

  • Paying in advance through subscription models like Amazon Prime
  • Offering “free” shipping only after reaching a purchase threshold
  • Folding shipping costs into inflated item prices

Meanwhile, some sellers take the opposite approach and advertise very low item prices, only to intentionally overcharge for shipping to pad their profits. Signs of this approach often include:

  • Pricing that seems just a little too good to be true
  • Shipping costs revealed only late in the checkout process
  • Shipping charges disproportionate to the items being shipped

These may all be considered “acceptable business practices” elsewhere, but not here.

our policy

We don’t do BS “free” shipping. We do BS-Free Shipping. It’s pretty simple:

  1. You pay exactly what we pay for your shipping label.
Shipping rates offered at checkout are connected to live data from carriers and are calculated based on the total weight of the items and packaging in your cart. If you ever want confirmation, we’re happy to forward a copy of the shipping receipt.
  2. We absorb all other shipping-related costs.
Packaging materials, label supplies, and the time and fuel required to deliver parcels to the carrier are all covered by inktree. None of those costs are rolled into item prices or shipping charges.

That’s it.
Our shipping isn’t free, but it isn’t fake either.
Our goal is simple: clear pricing, honest shipping costs, and zero surprises at checkout.

Quick answers

How long does shipping take?
Orders are typically processed within a few business days. Delivery times vary depending on destination and the shipping carrier. Estimated delivery windows are provided when choosing a shipping method during the checkout process.

Do I have to pay taxes or duties on international orders?
International shipments may be subject to import taxes or duties required by the destination country. These charges are determined by local customs authorities and, when possible, we will provide a tax charge estimate prior to final checkout. However, we are unable to collect the taxes on your behalf. Any applicable charges generally must be paid online or in-person to customs offices or your final courier prior to delivery. If you are unfamiliar with the process in your area, just send us an email and we will be happy to help you sort it out!

What if there is a problem with my shipment?
If an order is delayed, lost, or arrives damaged, please email us and we will work with you to resolve the situation.

What if I entered the wrong shipping address?
Contact us as soon as you notice the error. If you haven’t yet received a shipment notification, it’s probably not too late to update the destination address before your purchase ships out.

I made a purchase, then realized I wanted to buy more things… can we combine shipping on those?
Probably! We love combining shipping! (Seriously, it just works out better for everyone.)
As long as your first order hasn’t shipped out, it shouldn’t be a problem. If you contact us before placing the second order, we can arrange a special transaction that bypasses a second shipping charge. If you have already placed two separate orders, email us and we can see about refunding whatever excess shipping costs you paid.

How do I contact you?
If you have any questions or experience any issues with an order, please email us: info@inktree.art

We are quick on a keyboard and have abysmal sleeping habits, so we shouldn’t keep you waiting long before we respond!

Order fulfillment and shipping

Delivery times vary depending on destination and the shipping carrier. Estimated delivery times provided by carriers are not guaranteed.

US Domestic sales tax

Sales tax will be collected where required by applicable law.

Customers are responsible for any applicable taxes, duties, or similar charges that may apply under the laws of their state or jurisdiction.

Currently, we are not required to collect sales tax from any state or territory in the US. We will update this policy section and our checkout process should it become a requirement in the future.

Taxes and import charges for international orders

International shipments may be subject to import taxes, value-added tax (VAT), duties, or other fees required by the destination country.

At this time, inktree does not have the infrastructure necessary to collect these taxes on behalf of the customer at checkout. Any applicable import taxes or duties are the responsibility of the customer and are typically collected by the shipping carrier or local customs authority when the package arrives in your country.

We understand that international shipping requirements can sometimes be confusing. If you are unsure how taxes or customs fees work in your country, please feel free to contact us; inktree will gladly provide any information or documentation we can to help you understand the process and keep your shipment moving smoothly.

Our goal is to make sure international customers receive their orders with as little friction as possible, and we are always happy to help if questions arise along the way.

IMPORTANT: In many countries, the shipping carrier or customs authority will contact the recipient if taxes, duties, or additional information are required before delivery can be completed. Customers should keep an eye on shipment tracking and any notifications from the carrier Customers should keep an eye on shipment tracking and any notifications from the carrier once a package arrives in their country. If customs authorities or the carrier request payment or additional information, responding promptly will help prevent delays or the package being returned. If you are unsure how to proceed at any point, please contact us at info@inktree.art and we will gladly help you navigate the process.

Accuracy of Address & Contact Information

Please make sure that shipping information is entered correctly when placing an order. Incorrect or incomplete addresses can cause delivery delays or returns.

International carriers or customs authorities may attempt to contact the recipient if additional information or payment is required before delivery can be completed. Please ensure that the email address and phone number provided with your order are accurate so that delivery notifications can reach you.

If a carrier requests information related to your shipment, responding promptly can help prevent delays or return of the package.

Customs processing times

International shipments must pass through customs inspection in the destination country. Processing times vary and are outside the control of inktree or the shipping carrier.

While most shipments move through customs without issue, occasional delays may occur depending on local procedures.

Damaged items

If an item arrives damaged or there is an issue with the order, please contact us and include photos if possible. This helps us understand the situation and determine the appropriate resolution.
