Postcard inspired by the fictional town of Haddonfield, Illinois: the setting of John Carpenter’s Halloween (1978)—starring Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode and Nick Castle as The Shape (aka Michael Myers)—as well as several sequels, including Halloween (2019)), Halloween Kills (2021), and Halloween Ends (2022). The background image displays an unassuming, quiet neighborhood in mid-autumn, leaves on the ground and jack-o-lanterns scattered about, ready for eager (and unsuspecting) children. The image is accompanied by the message “Happy Halloween from Haddonfield, Illinois”, the town name set in the same font used in the film’s opening credits…apart from the letter O, which is a nod to the Halloween jack-o-lantern pumpkin that leers at viewers during that famous opening sequence. Finally, the card includes an oddly self-conscious note from the townspeople: “A safe place to trick or treat!” No, really…it is. Trust us.
This would be a great addition to any horror collection, whether your own or as a gift to a fellow human you enjoy.
All of inktree’s postcards are made with high-resolution image files printed on 100-lb cover cardstock. After printing, both sides of the postcard are sealed with a lightweight protective sealant that makes the postcards moisture and UV resistant, yet still easy to write on. While it’s not recommended you go swimming with them or leave them out in the desert sun, they will definitely hold up to a trip through the mail in humid weather or years spent in a picture frame hanging in a sunny room.
